Scott Benton was elected the Conservative MP for Blackpool South in 2019
Scott has a proven track record of working with local people, community groups and businesses to get results on the issues that matter to people. He is campaigning alongside residents across Blackpool to improve our local community and to make Blackpool an even better place to live, work and visit.
Scott has considerable experience both in and outside of politics. He previously worked for for Craig Whittaker MP and served as a Councillor in Yorkshire for 8 years where he was Deputy Leader of a local council for part of that period.
Prior to this he worked as a primary school teacher where he focused on supporting under-privileged children.
Scott’s political priorities are delivering a strong local economy and creating more jobs for local people; re-opening our Airport for commercial passenger flights to support our tourism industry; and delivering a Brexit that brings prosperity to the region.
As well as spending his spare time with family and supporting community events, Scott is also an avid football fan.
